James Goodall
CARPENTER
James holds an associates degree in civil engineering technology and a bachelor's degree in sustainable design (with a heavy focus on site impacts), both from Vermont Technical College. He worked as a transportation engineer for the first part of his career, before transitioning to carpentry. One of the things that James likes most about the building industry is the continual sense of satisfaction at the end of each day. The feeling of “look, I did that” makes him incredibly happy, whether it’s hanging doors, demoing a bathroom, or setting cabinets. There isn’t a day that he doesn't leave feeling satisfied. Plus, there is always something to learn!

James has always been drawn to and excelled at activities that allow him to use his body and that also have clear metrics for progress and improvement. Carpentry provides all of those things. James is driven by finding pride in his work, he loves working on something that he's excited to show his friends and family.
James is from Randolph, VT. He's never really wanted to leave Vermont, he likes visiting almost anywhere, but is always happy to be back home. James enjoys martial arts (he has done Taekwon-do since he was 7), reading, playing with his kids, and going for long drives.
Did you know?
James’s favorite destinations are anywhere that he can disconnect from technology… and also, science museums.

James is fully versed in basically every Disney song, up through Frozen.
People are often surprised to find out he doesn't drink coffee. (Or any hot beverage really).
